Iamverysorryfornothavingwrittenforsolong—Ihavebeenhereinmyhomecityalreadymorethantwomonths.EversinceIcamebacktoPeking,Ihavebeenverybusyinreadingandwriting.AllthetimesIwanttogoandseemoreplacesinordertogathersomematerialforwriting,butmysciaticpainisstillwithmeandIhavetostayineveryday,andIcanonlygetnewideasfromreading.
Afterfifteenyearsseparation,mythreesisters(seventy—three,seventy,andsixtyfouryearsold)arealllivinginPekingandstillveryhealthy.Mybigbrotherisheretoo.Theyareveryhappyindeedtoseetheiryoungestbrothercomingbackhome.Twoyearsago,mybrotherwasalmostdeadofstarvation.Now,hissonsareallworkingandmybrotherisrightagain.Sotheyalllovethenewgovernmentwhichisreallygoodtothepeople.
